ESU Branch President, Robert Furlan, says: “The ESU has managed the Oldham Wedlick Scholarship since the 1990s. The late Phyllis Wedlick was passionate about the English language and its literature. Our commitment to the heritage, culture, identity and fellowship of the English-speaking peoples complements her dedication. We are honoured to be the trustee for her bequest in support of the Scholarship. Past winners have completed courses of advanced study, developed teaching skills, undertaken research and published creative writing. We look forward to announcing a new winner in late 2022 or early in the new year.”
